“Sharenka” cave is a cave-museum, named after the largest district in the town of Madan. It is located 2.5 km southwest of the town of Madan – on the left bank of a deep ravine. The cave is reached by an asphalt road, and for those who like hiking, there is a mountain path about a kilometer long. In the immediate vicinity of the entrance there is a built wooden gazebo with a fountain, and in the nearby canyon you can hear the falling waters of the waterfall. Its entrance is located in a marble rock and after a small slope of 4-5 m it reaches an underground corridor (gallery). The gallery leads to the small hall. It has an irregular shape with an approximate area of 100 sq.m. Two narrow corridors lead from the Small Hall. The steep corridor descends into the Great Hall. There is a gap in the ceiling of the great hall that protrudes to the surface of the rock terrain. This natural chimney played an important role not only in the habitation of the cave, but also in the mining and smelting of ore during the Iron Age and Late Antiquity.
